Contract Labor

DCSO Deputies are available to be hired during their off-duty time by organizations in the community to provide security services. Requests for off-duty deputies are submitted to the Chief Deputy for review, and once approved a contract is signed by both parties. By doing so, each party is legally protected, and expectations of work are agreed upon before the event. The deputies assigned are also paid according to their time-and-a -half OT rate and their benefits such as health insurance, retirement, and are also funded. The current contract price per hour is $60. Wage and hour regulations require that we process the money paid through our personnel office so that the deputy assigned to the detail is paid as part of his paycheck. Unless otherwise stated in the request, deputies that are hired will wear their patrol uniform and drive their assigned DCSO patrol vehicle. Examples of contract labor include traffic details, fairs/picnics, security at venues such as wedding receptions and concerts, sporting events and more. To learn more about having a DCSO deputy provide security at your next event please contact the Chief Deputy’s office.
